Tooth Fairy Fabulous... or not

Corben's first tooth came out a few weeks ago,
I wanted this tooth so bad, not sure why but I did.

So I tried bribing him to pull the tooth, didn't work.
I tried pulling it myself, Me and Corben went round and round but the tooth held its own.
So one morning while eating a waffle, the tooth came out! I was so excited.
Corben was just like hey cool.
Corben had some scheduled Time with dad so I kept the tooth in a safe spot Until Corben stayed here again. That was last night.
We put the tooth in a little baggie and then under Corbens pillow.

Then as soon as Corben fell asleep the very crafty and might I add pretty Fairy took the bag and replaced it with one with a dollar and fairy dust *smart fairy*
So the next morning I waited and waited for corben to wake up.

When he finally did, he seemed disappointed.
I asked if the tooth fairy came, No he said?
Hmm lets go double check So we go into the bedroom and on the bed is a bag
laced with glitter.... and also empty?

So I ask, hmm what was in this bag?
corben"nothing" With a big frown.

what ?
What was in the bag Corben? we went around and around for a bit until he finally said
well she left a dollar so I put it in my bank.
why are you so excited about this mom?

I remember the tooth fairy being a big deal, I was so excited about the myth and fairy tail.
only to be out calmed by my 5 year old.
There just isnt enough magic in the world anymore.
maybe the next loose tooth will bring some excitment.
sigh.

Home.

Well in the last year we have moved 2 times. The first time started with promise and ended badly, Corben had major anxiety and seperation issues, and he Didn't adjust to his new room well at all.
With the mess of Divorce and all that has happened I was very worried about moving again and how corben would react to all the new changes.

I was ready, I had read books watched the super Nanny show and had a plan of attack.
I was going to stay with Corben in his new room, until he fell asleep at night.
I prepped him for it so he knew it was coming we had lots of talks about this, I would get a chair and sit next to his bed. Each night I would set the Chair back a inch or so and move it further and further back, until he felt comfortable enough to be in his own ben on his own for the first time in 8 months.
I was prepared to loose much sleep, to deal with a crying child and to sleep on the floor in his room when need be. I was ready!

Last Saturday night was our first Night in a new house, new room.
Corben was thrilled to take a bath and get in jammies. I wasnt fooled, I was ready for what what coming.
I wasn't ready for this...

Corben: ok mom ready for Bed, Turn off all the lights so its really dark.
me : um ok?
Corben: "mom why are you still in here?"
me: huh?
Corben: why are you still in my room mom? I want to go to bed.
me: um well right ok... walks out of room confused.

Ok I thought, he is going to wake me up a dozen times wanting me to go to his room, or to climb in bed with me. I stayed up and waited... and waited...
then it was morning. 9am
I was stunned! and very sleepy. I had been so ready I had charts people!
Each night since has been the same.
Ok ready for Bed night mom.
mom why are you still here?

I am so confused.

Workin 9-5

Well I have almost completed one full week of "work" in 5 years.

I like working and staying busy, I think I will love the job, the people are nice and trainers are very patient.
The information that I have to learn will be a huge challenge, I need to learn 135 labs worth of information, testing, ect in 10 weeks.
To better put it in perspective ARUP does over 3500 lab tests a day, and each doctors office calls wanting results and information.
And on top of that we also do all the tracking for all the incoming boxes of samples waiting to be tested, so couriers will call me and give me lots and lots of numbers and I have to input them all into the data base.
On top of all this learning each month I am required to complete a CEU, these dont take much time but I dont have a spare min as it is.

more downsides to a paycheck...
I miss Corben, I am struggling with this bit, alot. Once I come home its food, bath and bed.
no time or energy for play. At least I get to hold him until he falls asleep at night.
I am so thankful I have a wondermazing sister who is watching Corben every day.
Thank you Thank you thank you! Your just wow!

Besides not having alot of time with corben the absolute worst part of my job is the drive time.
I changed my schedule around a bit and I hope this will cut down 1 hour of sitting in traffic each day, as it is its 50min to work and over a hour to get home. And don't get me started on finding a parking spot.

Well I am off to bed, got to get up early and do it all over again.
sigh.
